I had thought the Spitfire and Buchon were for Ross himself. Regardless, the Aussies are in a very exciting time with their warbird scene. Very cool.

Last I heard - months ago - the two-seater was off to Switzerland, but who knows if it's since been re-sold.

Yeah I went to an airshow one time. They had two fake Hurricanes built by Canadian Car and Foundry as well as 7 or 8 fake T-6's built by CC&F. Then they had a flyover with a bunch of fake Wildcats and B-17's built by General Motors and Catalinas built by Boeing and Vickers of Canada.Worse was a practically new Corsair fake built by an automotive tire company. No reason to bother looking at the Ford built Liberator parked on the flightline. There was a beautiful polished Mustang but when I found out it was not built in Dallas, but by CAC of Australia, I stomped my feet at yet another fake.
None of the Yaks were survivors of the Eastern Front and many had fake allison engines in them. None of the Spitfires attending were built at Castle Bromwich, so no photographs for me!

At this point, it was time to move on to the trainers and L-birds. Not a single Stearman in attendance, just rows and rows of lousy Boeing PT-17s. The Bucker Bu 131 Jungmann's looked nice but I didn't want to risk looking at a fake built in Hungary, Spain, or Czeckoslavakia for their fake militaries. Then it was over to a long line of North American L-17s. (no disgusting Ryans for me) I skipped the rest of the fake Pt-19's and PT-26's because they were probably built by Fleet rather than Fairchild. Last I took lots of photos of a real Ector L-19 Bird dog. Ector built the bird dog, right?
It was so bad I bought a ticket for the next day.

At least there were no fake Fi-156s there built in France or Czech. I flew a hybrid, German fuselage, French wings, You sure as hell wouldn't want a picture of that!
