A few minutes ago, a flight of three AT-6/SNJ types cruised by at LOW altitude in a line-abreast formation with smoke on! They were paralleling southbound IH-35E, flying perhaps just west of the road. The smoke went off as they neared Lake Lewisville and the formation separated and they made a turn to the west over the lake. Neato! :D

Update: WIXer CrewDawg told me this afternoon that the Texans were doing a flyover for the dedication of a new veterans' memorial in Hickory Creek, TX.

One of the CWAM's Mi-2's buzzed Lancaster Town Square a couple of times around 0830 this morning. Heard that distinctive rotor sound from my grandparent's house, opened the blinds and saw it as it turned south about half a block south of me. :)

VAQ-139 'Scorpions' flew home Saturday to NAS Whidbey from det in the Middle East, and the EFA-18 'Growler' 5 ship flew pretty low over my house which is about 10 miles East of Ault Field.

At the Connecticut Air and Space Center's Open House today, the 5 Skytypers flew over doing their skywriting thing. Nice to see and hear.

Tar Heel Hal scooted by this morning, sure good to see it back in the air. Then had an A-26 loitering over old League City this afternoon, musta passed over my place two dozen times or more. Wonder what they were up to?

Seriously cool pic, VL -- thanks! 8)

Rick Sharpe and the A-26 were covering the funeral procession of Lt. Commander William Egan. The funeral is actually tomorrow. Here's the story from the local ABC affiliate.

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=8250672

Commander Egan was flying the A-1H Skyraider when he was shot down.

Took this photo from my front yard this morning; there aren't many places where you will see static line parachutists jumping from a C-47!

The activity is the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team Jump School; for more photos see:

Caught Karen (O2Lady) at the airport yesterday just before leaving for Meacham. Great catching up with her, she's always got good information for those of us who aren't "keyed in" more than what we get here. :)

She returned just as I left the airport around 4pm after a long day of Civil Air Patrol exercise work. No pictures sadly, I left my camera (which was dead anyway) at home.
