Maybe I'm just a little out of the loop, but why does 55-0677 need to be moved? The YAF is based out of Willow Run.

It would sincerly be a shame to see this aircraft destroyed considering that she is a combat veteran and "Sharkmouth" BUFF to boot.

I heard it was going to be moved to a different area of where it is parked. I didn't hear anything about it being cut up.

From everything that I've heard, that's it in a nutshell. There was a lot of scuttlebutt running around when the Air Force came in and moved the F-8 out of the airpark. Someone somewhere heard a story from some guy that knows some other guy, and wondered aloud if the Air Force was going to come in and take all of their toys home. It snowballed from there.

There has been some talk of making the B-52 a gate guard for the new campus, but that's all pretty much in the realm of "You know what we oughtta do some day if we get the time and resources?" talk. There are few dozen other things on the priority list at the moment.

Thanx Chico (and others) for the info about your BUFF. I hoped when I heard that ugly rumor that she was gonna be made into beer cans, was just that, an ugly rumor! Thanx also for not tearing into the newbie for starting an ugly rumor. Wish I could tell you where I heard that, but for reasons of national security...
