don't think it is...the Prowler has a different profile than the Intruder.

This is the A model of the Prowler nor the EA-B version which most are more familar with.

I'm pretty sure that the Prowler name was only used on the EA-6B which was a redesign of the basic A-6 airframe. The EA-6A was just a varaint of the Intruder.

Can anyone that knows for sure confirm this?

The EA-6A was originally called the "Electric Intruder" but eveyone I served with called it the Prowler.
I suppose it maybe the same has in the A-10. Who the heck ever called it the Thunderbolt II?[/b]

On the F-4. The antenna on the backbone looks like a towel rack LORAN antenna. Don't the ARN number though.

Any chance the nose art will be saved if they scrap the planes?

Steve,
Did you take the Pima Air And Space bus tour or did you get a chance to walk/ride with someone else? Great pics of the nose art.

I don't ever remember the EA-6A ever being called a Prowler, I remember them just being an Intruder or an Electric 6. But then again they were all in the Reserves by the time I hit the deck.

It is an EA-6A Intruder, Buno 148616. There has only ever been one Prowler at AMARC, it left in the 90s to be returned to service.
