Did anyone check out some of the videos at the bottom of the linked page? Some are very good. Some F-16s escorting a Bear like Scott said. I know, It's not live but still a pretty good video plus an amazing helo display!!!!!

The NMUSAF is getting a backfire I think. I am not sure when or any other details but that is what I have been told by some officials.

The Tu-16 was actually designed as a replacement to the Tu-4 which was the copy of the B-29. There was also never a B-17 clone made in Russia so the resemblance is proabably coincidence or a case of function dictating form.

Jack Erickson was considering getting a Bear to fly around the USA several years ago, but I guess nothing came of it. Too bad... it is an awesome looking aircraft. Not pretty, but a real beast of an aircraft!

Right now Titanium solids (scrap) is going for about $17 a pound. The Russians used Titanium everywhere to reduce weight, especially in the landing gear structure, because most of the world's supply of Ti is mined there. I hate to see any warbird go to the scrapper, but someone is making a killing on these beasts.

Stop it! :evil: If you have to cut airplanes at least let it be airliners, like 727's and the like. God I'm glad I'll never work on another one of those. It would really cool to see some of the Russian heavy iron on the warbird market, if not flyable at least in some U.S. museums.
