My picks for great warbird headlines of 2006:

1. Planes of Fame Returns P-26 and AT-12 (P-35) to Air.

2. Beck's New-Build P-51A Flies.

3. Seafire XVII SX336 Flies.

My hoped-for top warbird headlines of 2007:

2. 1:1 Scale Fw 190 Replica Makes Airshow Appearance.

3. 1:1 Scale Ki-43 Replica Makes Airshow Appearance.

4. Diamond Lil Remade into B-24A.

5. P-40B Flies at Duxford.

And finally, with holiday wishes to all:

1. No Warbird Crashes or Fatalities Occur in 2007.

August

4 fatal crashes this year, 2 L 39's F86 and the Hawker Hunter. I hope 2007 is a safer year for everyone

Certainly not the biggest story, but one of the most intriguing has to be the mysterious Colorado Corsairs and P-38s.

I'd say Swamp Ghost, and for us New Yorkers the sale of Fuddy Duddy and a couple of other Wings of Eagles aircraft.

I AGREE - I don't think the threads are the same at all.

The Swamp Ghost saga, the sales of Glacier Girl, Rare Bear, Fuddy Duddy plus a significant number of TFC's aircraft, Seafire first flight in the UK, three original Bristol Fighters flying together in the UK, Tom Blair adding significantly to his collection.

I'll count the P-61 (and Red Bull P-38 for that matter) when they fly!
