Question.....if they could salvage stuff off of the moon, why didn't they bring back the B-32?

Because we never really went there in the first place...

It's all part of a vast government conspiracy!

I remember that one quite well. They find the B-35 being guarded by a Japanese soldier played by good old "Stock Oriental" actor Mako (who of course is unaware the war is over.) He supposedly "maintained" the aircraft by turning the props through once a month..so naturally it was still perfectly airworthy. Even as a 13-year-old viewer, that seemed a bit far-fetched to me.

There were some scenes where the salvage crew is learing to fly a B-25 using "Executive Sweet," then owned by Challenge Publications. I don't know what Mitchell was used for the supposed Doolittle Raider, but it had a pin-up nose art and the name "Shangri La Lil" (probably painted on just for the show.)

SN

"Shangri La Lil" was actually a B-17F of the 303rd BG.

Are you sure it wasn't Shanghai Lil? I remember Planes of Fame's B-25 being marked that way years ago.

It's been a long time (more than a quarter century!) so I can't be 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure it was "Shangri La Lil." That would jive with Roosevelt's comments about Doolittle's planes taking off from "our secret base in Shangri La." I know..he didn't say that until well after the raid, but the show wasn't exactly known for its historical accuracy!

I remember there was a girl painted on the plane, but I'm not sure if the name was there as well..it wouldn't be too hard to change "Shangri La" to "Shanghai" though. I do remember the plane being a B-25J..as the salvage team approaches, the Japanese "caretaker" cranks the upper turret around and opens fire on them.

So if the trip to the moon was a goverment conspiracy that must mean the B-32 must still be up there. With NASA gearing up to go back (or as we all know go for the first time) we must get the Dominator first. As all Wixers are so generous with Garys 50 cal. replica I propose all you guys and gals send me money and I will run up there and recover it. Any takers? I have a lot of experience in recoveries, this one will be slightly more difficult, but I thrive on a challenge.

Actually, I've heard other conspiracists claim that we did go to the moon, found aliens there, and were warned never to return. These are the same folks who claim that pile of rocks and sand on Mars is a "Face."

Oh, and Kennedy was killed by the CIA because he was going to go public about the aliens our government has been secretly dealing with for years.

I was just trying to look up info on the Lunar B-32..seems it later disappeared! Maybe they've got it in storage at Dayton (in the same building with the frozen "grays.")

A B-32 on the moon? has anyone ever heard how it was supposed to have gotten there? It didn't fly there(no aerodynamics for the wings to work). I was just wondering what the story said.

You clearly aren't a reader of weekly world news. Did you know that a UFO laned on the flight deck of the Nimitz?

Ah the Final Countdown. If you thought the F6F had a good kill ratio, those F-14's were unstoppable!
