F-89 as 'Gravel Gobblers' at one time or another for extraordinary take off runs..84F also described as Lead Sled.

B-70 - Cecil the Sea Sick Sea Serpent by Al White

can't recall if I saw above AH1 Cobra's as 'Snakes'
or P-51 as 'Spam Can'

Jug's were not a Martin Caiden invention, it was described in many forms as 7 ton Milk Bottle, Jug, etc.

When my dad was a radar observer (backseater) in F-89C, he talked of the longggg takeoff rolls and also the tendency the airplane had for ingesting FOD/gravel because of the intakes being so low to the ground--wonder if this nasty habit contributed to the nicknam gravel gobbler. They eventually installed screens on the intakes to prevent the J35s from ingesting gravel, FOD etc.

Mitsubishi A500m6 fighter aka - "Fastas$sumbeechie!"

based on a modified Piper Cub airframe and fitted with a wowasaki Sabre
H-24 engine with 4 superchargers and Nitrous injection.Too little- too late
a true marvel
