I changed the map link to point to the address of an American Legion. I left it as error level 3 or "Town", since you were not sure it is at a Legion.
0 error=Exact
1=Sight (within eye sight of the map reference)
2=Area (within 2 or three blocks)
3=Town (Heard it is someplace in town, just not sure where)

I can't see anything in that area either. When did you last spot it? That would be worth adding to the notes to provide a level of confidence to the info.

The Albatross at Tucson International is on the west side of the airport.

The Cougar in Buckeye is on a farm SW of the corner of Yuma Rd. and Jackrabbit Trail. Google earth coords are as follows:
33 25 42.25 N
112 29 27.97 W

While we are in Buckeye we might as well slide on over to Buckeye Airport where there is an A-26 which I didn't see listed on the locater.
33 25 13.14 N
112 40 48.26 W

As for the F-84 in Peoria I can't for the life of me find it on Google Earth. The place where I think it should be looks like it might be undergoing renovation so I'm a bit worried the T-jet may be gone. I will be in that area on Saturday and will have a look.

I also cannot see the Mohawks located on the farm in Glendale. They were disassembled last time I saw them so they may be hard to spot on Google. I will drive by that area as well this weekend for a look.

The F-102 at Luke AFB has been gone for close to 20 years. It was on a pole just outside the north entrance near the hospital. I don't recall if it was relocated or scrapped. I also recall the HU-16 which was there but it too is gone now. I seem to recall that one having gone to another base or museum but I could be mistaken. If memory serves it was in good shape and looked really good, at least from a distance.

Last but not least, I don't see the collection at Glendale Airport listed. I'm sure Matt will chime in here with more info but I know there is at least one Texan, one Trojan (maybe more), one PBY, one C-119, one DC-3, one C-1A Trader, one A-26, and two disassembled A-7s on the field. Could be an Avenger there too, though last time I saw it was at the CAF hangar at Falcon Field.

PS - Regarding an F-86 in Goodyear, I've lived in and around Goodyear for more than 20 years and I don't ever recall there being an F-86 anywhere. Possibly a mis-identification of the T-33 on display at Agua Fria High School?

PPS - The Mohawks on the farm in Glendale are/were located just south of Glendale Avenue on the west side of 91st Avenue. This area has undergone a lot of renovation so they may have moved on. It's probably been 2-3 years since I've seen them. (there were at least 3)

at Glendale we have the Flight of the Phoenix C-119, C-1A Trader, A-26B Invader, PBY-5A Canso, DC-3C, AT-6D, T-28C, T-28B, TBM-3E, 2 A-7 Corsairs, a MiG-17 and 21

Thanks for the clarification Matt. Didn't seem like it had been that long ago that I'd seen the F-84 in Peoria but you what they say about time flying when you're having fun! Not sure whey I though the Mohawks were further north but, with your info, I think I was able to find them at:

112 15 19.98 W

They don't look like much but I'm pretty sure that's them.

Hey Matt, did you happen to google earth Glendale airport recently? The the Collings Foundation B-17 and B-24 are on the ramp. Good timing!

If you check Falcon Field they are there as well, on the ramp west of the terminal

What is the name of the organization? Do they have a website? Matt... tell me more!!! Without a name or an entry in the locator it is difficult, even with Google, to go from a location to a website.



I'll take the word of a local as the gospel. Then entry has been changed.



I assume none of these are static displays. They are all active aircraft, correct?

The other aircraft on Google Earth at Tucson International are no longer there. They have been gone for several years after an airport "clean up".

all but the T-28B, A-7s and MiGs are owned by Hans Lauridsen, we are trying to open a museum with them. We also have a B-25 that is currently in Mesa, a PT-17 in Buckeye, and a C-45 in Pekin, ILL.

Regarding #20, I'm pretty sure that the only bird left on display at Williams is the T-38. There are some other interesting aircraft scattered around the field but none that I would say were "on display". There is a Fouga at the most north-western portion of the ramp as well as a gaggle of Skyhawks in open-air storage on the north-east portion of the airport boundary. They are well away from the normal operations area and can be googled at:

These are NOT the operational Skyhawks which can be see elsewhere on the airport.

When Williams AFB closed its doors during the 90's, the F-86 and T-33 on display were moved to the Air Guard facility at Sky Harbor Airport. Also, Williams Gateway is in the City of Mesa.
