Here's a brief history on the DC-3.
http://www.douglasdc3.com/chevy/chevy.htm
We will post more on her later.
A very detailed history of our C-47 will be posted on our website sometime tonight.

It's been a while, but here is an update on our DC-3.
It's coming along finally, and will be a twin of our C-47.http://wwiiadt.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=357&start=50

Awesome stuff man. Is your facility open to the public to view the aircraft?

Perhaps someday we'll have a full time museum, but for now we're only "open" when we are training (once a month), or during our jump schools.
You can view our schedule herehttp://www.wwiiadt.org/calendar/calendar.htm
We will be hosting an open hangar day during our July jump school. July 26th.
Anyone is welcome then.

Mark Cook,

Did you guys jump out of the CAF Great Lakes Wing C-47 "Black Sparrow" at Manassas, VA, last June?

The "Black Sparrow" will be on a Paratrooper Drop at St. Louis this weekend June 28 and June 29, 2008. Will you guys be in on that one? It is for the 517th PIR reunion I think. I am looking forward to being part of it. See you there.

Tony Mireles
C-47 crewmember

Hi Tony,
No we are not affiliated with that group, but we did jump with you at Ft. Campbell, and will be working with you at Thunder over Michigan.

As Mark indicates, we're not open on a regular schedule outside work weekends and jump schools, but if anyone is passing through the area and wants to look over the airplanes and the WWII sub-depot they are located in, I only live a couple of miles away and can often (though not always) break loose to give a tour if you give me some advance warning.

Regards,

Andy

I think we can finally sign off on our new paint job.
Here are some updated photoshttp://wwiiadt.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=357&start=70
The Air Crew has decided to name this plane "Boop B Doop".
It is marked as the aircraft that one of our Legacy Members jumped from in Normandy.
We also changed the squadron markings on "Boogie Baby".
http://wwiiadt.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=566
She is marked as a 301st TCS bird in honor of Lloyd Neblett another one of our legacy members.
http://wwiiadt.org/Our_Heroes/Neblett/Neblett.htm
Currently we are just about midway through our jump school, and will commence airborne operations on Tuesday evening.
We will be hosting an open hangar day on the 26th.
All are welcome to attend.
Mark
