Still devote as much time as I can to my old SNJ-6 gang -- as much as I can from 1200+ miles away!

Most of you know this already, but. . . answering the question that was asked. . . I am a volunteer at the Vintage Flying Museum in Fort Worth, home of B-17G 44-8543A Chuckie. I don't get to spend as much time there as I'd like, but I do what I can, when I can. When I'm there, I work on the B-17 (under the direct supervision of a licensed A&P, of course!) and whatever else needs to be worked on. Last time I was at the hangar, I worked on our diesel tug, helped pull a prop from the B-17 for periodic maintenance, and worked on the ignition system for the #2 engine (which is off the airplane at the moment). Some days, I just sweep the floor and empty the trash, if that's what needs to be done. Behind the scenes, I'm in charge of acquiring original WW2 radio equipment that will be used in the restoration of Chuckie's radio room. That's something I can do from home! :D

Sometimes taking the trash out is what needs to be done. THere are many not so fun tasks that need to be done to upkeep the base of operations for the warbirds as well.

Love the picture. That is one of my favorite B-25's on the circuit today.

I don't do a lot, but I help with the ALS website and fly the L-2 and the Cub some. Would like to get checked out in the L-5 soon.

Thanks, that was when it wasn't raining at the airshow and in between towing airplanes around. :D

I own fly and maintain my O2-A, and have 2 UH1-H we are returning to flying status. I am a member and thinking of running for Director at MAPS air museum.

Hey oscarduece, that O-2 is sweet! I was thinking of volunteering out at MAPS as it is only like an hour an a half from my place.

Hey,

I'm involved in the Canadian Museum of Flight, at Langley Airport, BC.

I'm not qualified to fly their airworthy airplanes, but I have helped restore some of our airplanes as well as serving on the board of directors.

Cheers,

David

Hey all, 1st Post ...

I'm also at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum employed as a mechanic. Most of the time I'm chained to the P-61, although I've been putting in a lot of time trying to finish our Kinner Sportster. Spring's coming so its time to start thinking about the 25, TBM, T-6, and others... Can't wait for flying wx!

Gotta love WIX!!

Hey there crew 29,
welcome to the site. You guys and gals at Mid Atlantic are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.

I too am involved with Lone Star Flight Museum. Hands on at anything and everything except not being a pilot. I do maint. , schlep chocks, wing walk, and my regular air show job of late has been on the tug crew. Hard work but I think it's pretty cool. I'm plane captain of the static display PBY-5A at LSFM, ex RCAF9742. Being static, I mainly try to ,keep it clean and chase oil drips.
I'm also active on PBY@yahoo and am acquainted with a number of PBY owners, pilots and crew. Matt Gunsch and I are friends from that site.
