Actually it's a P-40K-1 with the winterization kit. The spinner and and wheel covers would be yellow. Interesting marks on the drop tank. The holes in the leading edge root fairings are for cockpit fresh air vent. Very cool picture! Thanks!

I'll fix the caption. The original at the archives was miscaptioned has it also said south pacific :shock:
