Aahh, that story,
I looked at the other pictures and saw the airplane at an airshow with the New England DC-3 Gang a few years back. Does anybody have the info of why the airplane went from Airshow airplane to scrap parts pile to horror story?
I was suprised to see that it was the airframe that killed a volunteer and injured another two years ago.

Sad story, K.L.

Zane,

I was right. The C-47 tail you saw was bought by Jim Kelly as a spare for his C-47. The pickup that was hauling it belongs to Jim. His son went and got it. Jim's on tour with his B-25J Pacific Prowler at the moment.

Cheers!
