Dan: Before you rush out and buy a reader or a reader/printer, go to the local library and use theirs for a little bit. You need to figure out which lens sets you are going to need so as to be able to see all of the drawings. For my set for the AT-21, it takes three different lens sets to cover 95% of the drawings. Most of the originals were A thru E sizes, but some are E height, but multifeet in length. There are a couple even that are over a foot long on the film, which means that they were at least 15-20 foot originals. The good readers and the accompaning lenses can be had for under a couple of hundred bucks on eBay, but you need to have decided on a model before you start bidding. Also, the local library or school might have a unit that they are going to ditch and you might be able to get it for the group.

One thing about scanning through the drawings with a powered reader....it's possible to run the wind rate at just the right speed that you can give yourself vertigo.....BTDT and have the scars fron it.
