What school is it?

Did you read up on all the stuff written over at jetcareers.com on the school you were accepted to? There's lots of no-nonsense words over there...

Congrats.

Thanks Guys -- really... it means a lot to me to have the friendship and support of all of you here. I know that when school gets tough I have a group of people to turn to that will help me out if they can, etc... that's nice to know. Makes it a bit less scary!

So....what school is it?

What's your career objective afterward? What certificate will you leave the school with?

Oh, sorry I meant to respond to you!

I will be attending Central Washington University. Ultimately I would like to fly cargo, FedEx, UPS, Cargo 360, etc...

I will leave CWU with a Private PIlot Certificate, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, Certified Flight Instructor, and Multiengine Rating and my BS.

Cool deal. I'm a Seattle native -- Ellensburg seemed like a nice enough town, and with it being all flat and on the east side of the Cascades, the weather should be more tolerable than in the Puget Sound area. Perhaps you'll get some good IMC flying, too.

After graduation, are you thinking of getting on with AmeriFlight or one of the other freight organizations there in the NW? I used to be a ramper at Galvin Flying up at BFI during college, and talking to all of the AMF guys while I was working nights, they seemed to be sort of going down the same career path you're talking about -- aiming for UPS, generally.

Best of luck up there!

Randy, thanks a ton!!!

I am really looking foward to it.

CWU has a direct hire program with Horizon, so that's an option. (Who knows, maybe I'd really like flying for the airlines. :?: ) I also know some people with Cargo 360, so maybe I could work something out there. And don't ask why, because I have no idea, but ever since flying became my passion I've wanted to fly for FedEx, so that's my long term goal right now.

I am just anxious to get started!

How many hours do you think you'll graduate with (ballpark)?

I'm working the night shift in Afghanistan, so I really have nothing better to do right now than keep replying to this thread, heh heh.

Will it be enough to get hired at a regional, or will you go CFI or something right after graduation?

What? I am not worthy of your time otherwise?! LOL... :) Just kidding.

I should have about 425-450 hours (which includes the hours I already have) ... so I might have to CFI for a little while after that, but I think that might be kind of fun.
