Nope - former Safair L382G. Used to be ZS-RSI, c/n 4600, now C-GUSI. We also have #4799, C-GHPW. Good bird - FAST (for a long Herc).

Also I would love anyone passing thru PSP to stop by and I'll take you thru the museum if you cannot make your Tee time.

But that Hercules on the snow is for now the height of cool...

Still looking for an airline flying DC-7C's or 1649A's....

I think I may be submitting the weakest of the posts here....

I'm a trained commercial pilot, with multi-IFR, and will be starting my instructor rating on the trusty C-172 Skyhawk II. I know, it's quite a slick bird and many of you will be very jealous of me upon reading this, but don't worry, given enough experience, you too can fly a 172.

hahaha... I'm just starting my career.

Cheers,

David

Hey man, with out small aircraft, there would be no large aircraft. Good luck man. Either way you look at it, you are still getting paid to fly.

That's exactly why I'm doing it. I love flying too much to give up on my dreams. It's been a while since I finished my flight training without any luck. I've had a couple occassions where I'm set up for a job and then they "go under"

Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Retired Texas ANG C-130 FE, with Turboprop and Reciprocating FAA Flight engineer License. When FIFI was flying I sometimes felt like it was a job since so few are able fly the FE seat in her.

Ah... but BDK,

you just mentioned you owned an airplane I can only dream of flying, let alone owning. Plus the Stearman is a slight bit more classy than an 'ol Cessna.

My ambitions are high, so eventually you'll all see me flying something nifty, it'll just take time and effort.

Cheers,

David

I dunno - If I had the money I'd consider buying this bird...

Does that mean you are certified by the FAA to operate a control tower?

I think we can all agree that the -172 is one of the finest and most successful light airplanes of all time, but does anyone know who designed it? I suppose it was a progressive design beginning with the -120, but somebody must have been in overall charge when it first debuted.

Weak? C'mon...nobody got in a Mustang or a 747 for their first flight. Personally, I hope one day to be a CFI -- IMHO the most important job in aviation. I hear that the ground eval is a b%&ch, though! Not looking forward to THAT in any way!
