Eric, thanks for touring MAAM and then posting your pics! I'm sorry we didn't have the garage door to the back shop open. 99% of the time its open. I'm surprised no tour guides were available, we usually have at least one on. Sorry about that as well, I guess we were really slacking yesterday!!

I've often thought the F-84 we be a neat airplane to see fly again. There seems to be a lot sitting static at museums across the country. I think they fall in the "on loan from..." category which keeps them from being anything other than stuck on the ground. Ours has no engine, which seems the norm. How difficult/expensive (I know big $$$) would it be to re-engine it with a more reliable/cost efficient engine. Would there be enough demand to start a business that specialized in the conversion.
I'm thinking there isn't enough available (free from red-tape) airframes, and for the cost, one could buy some other jet with better performance. Any other thoughts?
T.J.
Thanks again Eric for posting the pics!!

I think to fit under 'not everything' it needs polka dots. What do you think Eric?

They probably stole those and used them on the A-10 as well as Custer's technology.[/quote]

I’m glad everyone enjoyed the images. Thanks for answering some of the questions James as I have been out all day having fun. Today was waterfall day and we saw 5 different falls. I did manage to stumble across a Huey in Milford, PA that I did not know about but that was about it for aviation related images.

TJ, sorry we missed you. I could hear the tools at work but all the doors were closed to the work shops. To tell you the truth my wife was starting to melt in the hangar after 20 minutes. Can you believe how hot it was on Tuesday. I did get a very cool Thunderbolt shirt at the store on the way out. It was my second visit to MAAM and we had a great time. One of these years I’m going to get to the WWII weekend.

Cheers,

Eric
