A while back there was a thread discussing the possibility of remanufacturing extict or near extinct aircraft. Some pretty wild and outrageous models were thrown out for discussion. Types that would never be recreated simply because of size and complexity. But,... there were many between the wars aircraft such as some of the P-40 precursors, Republic designs, etc..., that would be realistically doable. Those types would be both interesting and wouldn't risk the priceless few that do survive. The P-35 variants that survive come to mind.
