I saw Bill's cover when he was down at GLS earlier this year. It inspired me to go to the fabric store where I picked up some stretchy jersey type cotton fabric. It happened to be light tan and we made a canopy cover for the TA-4. We too have a space issue when on the road so we thought it might be a good compromise. I got some of that spray camp waterproofing for outdoor products, treated it twice. So far it does keep the hangar dust off of the canopy haven't sent it out on the road yet so we've yet to see how that will work.

BDK, you may be correct about the sheet, which I don't think is cotton since it doesn't shrink when wet. It may not be a good UV block. It is however $15 and keeps the dust off the canopy, and must help some with the UV. It does deflect rain out of the cockpit and dries pretty fast when the sun comes out.

Do you use a better cover when "at home"?

Most aircraft covers use Nylon Silver Laminate.
I don't know if that is too heavy or hard to store, but you might be able to pick up 2-3 yards of the stuff at a fabric store/RV shop.
Or better yet, since you are in Aspen, I am sure they may have lightweight UV proof covers for camping and hiking.

I think the Bed-Bath-Beyond sheet idea works, and it keeps the dust off and is light to carry.
If that is what you like, look into some type of $5.00 Fabric & Upholstery Protector to spray it with.
That stuff is most likely flammable, but so is the fuel you put in your aircraft.

I don't know... maybe it is a bad idea. Don't know what the spray will do to the canopy or paint. Have you had any problems with the bed sheets? It looks like it works and it is cheap.

I looked at Oshkosh Satellite images and I thought it was a big surrender flag. I thought maybe he wasn't a neo hippi anymore.
