I beleive 4X-AIM was restored by a former IDF/AF pilot and sold to Sweden around 1986. Maybe the Regina brothers helped with the rebuild in Israel but the aircraft was sold directly by the Israeli owner to Sweden.

4X-AIM is now Stephen Grey's Twilight Tear. It is the top left -D in photo from this past Sept. Currently under rebuild in Chino.
Blue Nose -C is Princess Elizabeth. The Spinner shows scraping marks around the trailing edge where phone cable wrapped around it. Israel used -Ds to cut communication lines in the 6 day war and this spinner came from one of those aircraft.

I can live with that statement, but don't ever dare to add a serial-number - it would cause a heated debate.....

Amen, Martin! 44-63864 with it's original paint scheme "Twilight Tear" should be finished by 2010 and making noise over Minnesota USA. The Dallas built F-6K 4X-AIM can make noise over England and it's fine if they wear the same name. There are no rules against what name you paint on your airplane, heck I think every P-38 that flew after the war had "Marge" on the side of it at one time or another, doesn't make it the real the Dick Bong P-38. Sorry I couldn't hold it in.

I wasn't aware that there was ANY US history on 4X-AIM, much less it being a Dallas F-6.

The only IDs that I'm aware of that have actually been tagged to that airframe are Sweden Fv26158 and Israel 42 and 38.

The Swedish Air Force number FV26158 was used
on P-51 44-63864.
