It was an Ivory handled pistol, pearl grips are for a New Orleans pimp !

 Well he didnt mention a fuzzy hat so I'll guess the pistols were ivory then

My uncle just showed me a nice stack of photos he snapped during his time in North Africa this past weekend. Early B-25's, P-39's, C-47's, A-20's...wrecked German birds, some really cool stuff

Scan them and share em.

I love to see pics from North Africa and Torch, since my Father-n-Law was there. On P-40F's.

I thought about asking him but realised that if he has kept them by his side for the past 60 years he probably wouldnt be too keen on letting them out of his sight for a while. Pics of Kasserine pass, convoys, beautiful desert landscapes. And then onto Sicily and Italy.

I do have a photo album from my other great uncle (his brother) from his time in Fiji with MATS during the war. Only a couple of planes in those pics though.

patton's revolver's handles were made of ivory, he hated the pearl handle insinuation. it should be noted that he used his stinson state side during war game manuevers, & never used it in europe.
