Vlado, great capture of a sweet looking machine. You sure know how to have fun.

There is only one standard for formation, FAST or as briefed.

Absolutely superb, could be out of Kingscliffe 1944. Wish the old base looked as good - runways mostly gone, no windows in the tower, just memories ...

Vlado, since I learned formation mostly with Howard, Archie, and the Marines, once at Osh I was on a Mustang wing when Gen. Grandfather rocked his wings. I saw the signal but was a little confused when I looked down in the cockpit for the yellow handle to relaese from the tow plane and could not find such a control!

Well, sort of. If it's "standard", then it is standard.

If it is "as briefed", then that is not standard.

How did FAST arrive at the terminology and visual signals it currently uses?

Is there a reason that the actual USAF formation visual signals, as described in AFI 11-205, are not used?

Wonderful photo Vlado...

Thanks for letting me do a little photochopping! The angle of the shot was just perfect...

I've titled this 'The Duel'...

Here's an alternate take on the same photochop called, 'Ghosts'.

It didn't come out the way I'd intended, but it's kinda neat...

It was a wonderful idea, and it looks just fine to me.
