Hey Mr Dickey! I'm glad I'm not the only one still up tonight! One on the great things about any show, is the people. Case in point. Steve Lenius. Who? A now retired U.S. Forestry Ranger from Oregon.... OK, whats the big deal? Steve's dad was a WWII gunner on a Helldiver. Steve has been a member of the Helldiver group for many years, and is always looking for the next item to find, make or have made for the airplane..... look at the following pics....

He made the bomb cradle from pics and drawings, had the bomb made, found the bomb hoist lift, and made the wooden chocks. In addition, I had a 13 year side-kick this year that just really loves airplanes. So Steve took the time to help get Matt into the gunners tub on the "Beast". This kid gets to go home and do a little bragging!

You know, those gunners just seem to get younger all of the time!

Two shots from the cockpit of the "Beast"!

Steve Lenius in the back..... although not visible here, he wears his fathers wings from WWII.

Great photos again AL, love those Navy issue chocks :supz: Don't think I've ever met Steve before, maybe but just don't recall if he's been to the shop before? Thanx again!

WE spent until 9:00pm Friday night fixing an ignition problem on the zero, then part of the crew spent almost all day Sunday fixing exhaust and alternator problems. Do your annual before Airsho!!!!!!!
