Lets put you out of your misery!
I think you are thinking about the elusive Lockheed Hudson which could be located in a lake in the Annapolis Valley., in Nova Scotia
There has been some search in recent years, but nothing to date. A number of years ago a Labrador helicopter crew from CFB Greenwood had seen the aircraft during a training mission, unfortunately the crew were all killed in a crash, shortly after, before they could go back to point out where it was.
If you believe the stories, there is a plane in every lake in Nova Scotia !.
To date, a couple of Hurricanes and a Hudson wing have come from them.

The B-24 Liberator that Tom Reilly had tried to recover was located in Goose Bay Labrador. It is my understanding that the front nose section from this aircraft is now with the NorthAtlantic Aviation Museum in Gander Nfld, while the rest of the aircraft is still in Goose Bay.
