The pics look like they are most likely a "factory fresh" aircraft right off the production line.

Thats just an old Vought photo I just never read the tail before,From what I understand is that the F4U-4B was a converted F4U-4 and the C model was the Production Aircraft of the conversion.

So what is going on with the one that was in Alabama?

I haven't read anything about -4's being converted to 20mm.
I've always understood it to be that the 20mm a/c were new build a/c with thier own BuNo.'s.

I see alot of wierd information on the "net", F4U-4B (British), F4U-4C (Cannon), most of it seems inaccurate compared to whats in the volume of books that are out there.

I have/had a few original Corsair factory manuals and none of them ever mentioned a -4C. So, who knows?

Where did you get all of the original factory photos of Corsairs? Do you have more? Can you send me some jpegs???
