They made a fiberglass replacement P/N AN104-B, works the same, paint it and go!! Jay Wisler has them @ Warbird Parts (813)968-5048. The AN104-A are out there just harder to find. We also hook them up direct to modern day radio systems they work great!

Is that a repro type? I have an original AN-104-B, and it is wooden, with a steel covering for the exposed part, and a couple simple brackets for mounting attached. I'm going to be using it for the WWII aircraft radio display, as I have the SCR-522, and most of the stuff for it, too...

Perhaps the wooden and fiberglass AN-104s were made by different suppliers. They have to meet a functional requirement, but not necessarily a "what's it made of" and "how's it made" requirement. Robbie, since you're a radio guy, take a look at the variety of J-38 telegraph keys and you'll see what I mean. Also, command sets came in both bare aluminum and black wrinkle finish painted, but the model number was the same on both and they were functionally interchangeable.

Cheers!

This is a replacement part and not a repro! These were made in the 1960's for like the A-26K, AC-119, etc. After painting you can't tell the difference.
