Interesting point. I had a long discussion with a curator who needed to specify for museum placards - the text needs to be at a reasonable level, comprehensible to all, but accurate. It's actually very tough to do well - many museums can't manage it.

The myths article isn't just simplified, it's just not properly researched, clear or accurate. Interesting to see though, and there's some good stuff to debate further.

That "Jalopopy" looks American Made, and thus, as it is in California and a Threatened Species, it must be left alone in it's natural habitat!
Perhaps you could charge tourists to come and take pictures of it!

Gee, Las Vegas doesn't have snow removal or deicing equipment at the airport? That is funny.

The ongoing snowstorm has stopped flights from landing or leaving at McCarran International Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

"No planes are departing for Las Vegas from anywhere in the U.S. right now," said FAA spokesman Ian Gregor.
Gregor said the airport doesn't have snow removal or deicing equipment, which means there's no way for snow-covered planes to leave safely.

"The forecast is not looking particularly promising for anybody who wants to fly into Las Vegas," he said.

Officials at McCarran International Airport say there have still been some arrivals since snow started falling in Las Vegas, although departures from other airports to Las Vegas have been stopped for the time being.

"McCarran International Airport is not closed. In the last hour, the airport has handled 14 arrivals and zero take-offs," airport officials said in a written statement. "Normal flight operations will resume once the inclement weather has improved."

I'm sure glad we aren't leaving until Sunday to head up there.

There are several of what I'd consider inaccurate answers to the myths....but I'm too lazy to suggest correct explanations for them at this time.

FWIW, re the Norden bomb sight....I *barely* have the capability to put a bomb in a "pickle barrel" TODAY with a $20,000 GPS-guided bomb that has perfectly mensurated coordinates in it. So much for hyperbole.
