I remember the Lake Greenwood Mitchell from the mid-80's. Not sure what happened to it after it was raised. Looked completely intact from what I remember.

The Lake Greenwood Mitchell was B-25C, 41-13285 , and was recovered in 1983, statically restored, and is now on open display, according to the registry. I remember seeing photos of her in Warbirds International (?)shortly after her recovery... she was very complete!

http://www.warbirdregistry.org/b25regis ... 13285.html

I do also recall seeing pictures of her in a hangar some time ago, but don't remember where. I also heard that she had some pretty serious corrosion problems since being recovered, and don't know whether these have been dealt with.

Cheers,
Richard

HI LOOK AT THE CONDITION OF THE AIR FRAME,NOW IF THIS IS NOT PROOF THAT RECOVERY MUST BE NOW OR THERE WONT BE MUCH LEFT IN A FEW MORE YEARS.THIS A/C CAME OUT OF A FRESH WATER LAKE BUT LOOKS TO BE IN VERY POOR CONDITION.THE MIND SET THAT THEY WILL LAST FOR 150 YEARS IS JUST PLAIN STUPID!! THE N.H.C.S TITLE 14 PUTS A DEATH NAIL TO THESE HISTORIC MACHINES. THE LAW DOES NOT PUT ANY LIMITS ON THE RANGE OR BRANCH OF MILITARY IT CAME FROM, IF ITS ON THE PLANET, UNDER WATER,AND WAS OWNED BY THE MILITARY IT IS NOW PROPERTY OF THE N.H.C.UNTIL IT IS CHALLENGED IN A COURT OF LAW IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS NO LIMITATIONS AS TO WHAT THIS BILL COVERS.I SEE THIS AS A DIFFICULT LAW TO ENFORCE IN SEVERAL SITUATIONS AND WE HOPE THAT WE CAN ALL PULL TOGETHER TO END THIS CRITICAL ISSUE.THANKS MIKE

Wendy is Wendy Coble. I think that she's in charge of archaeological stuff at the NHC.

I thought she looked pretty good in those pictures. She might benefit from being taken apart in major sub-assemblies and given and nice chemical bath. Take her out and see what the corrosion situation is like.

You are twisted Rob: You are talking about taking her apart, like a dissection???

As I suspected, you have a worse sense of humor than I..
