I do not have a photo handy, but I know a Curtiss A-25 Shrike was used to tow a CG4A. In an attempt to sell the A-25 to the US Army a glider snag was made during a demo.

Shay, the A-25 used was #41-1878x (last number not visible) per photo of it on apron. It was flown and tested as a tug at CCAAF.
Do you have proof it was also used for a snatch? To my knowledge it was used for towing tests, but did not have a winch installed and did not do a snatch.
One of the power pilots involved in those tests told me the man who was responsible for thinking the plane should be tested for glider towing should have been given a section 8 discharge.

We used to use a pick-up truck, 200' of rope and an axe to get our Schweizer 2-33's up at Castroville in the late 70's. The axe was for the poor schmuck who was riding in the bed of the pick-up to cut the rope to the glider in case she could not release.
Lot's o fun that day!!!

I posted Shay's photo. I do not have a copy handy, but as I said the picture was of an A-25 with a tow line and a CG4A on the ground waiting.
