They did not have enough people interested in taking a B-24 flight on 3/17. They do routine maintenance on the aircraft just about every day. The planes have to be ready to fly 7 days a week for 10 months straight, so it takes lots of prevenative maintenance. They usually pick the days with no or few rides to do the most involved prevenative maintenance.

well that almost makes sense. My brother originally booked the B-24, but they said she was out of service, so they moved him to the B-17.
