This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Everything takes time... but as a software engineer I know it can be done.
Just time and money.

Dave, nice idea. I for one would like to know how things are going.
Policy is policy...
but I still feel that we are missing lots of information by this ban.
Next to Peter and a few others on this board, Bill had a great deal of information in regards to Spits.
And it was something I could directly relate to as I and others in Colorado had seen him fly at local events.
It is too bad that a "ignore" feature couldn't be developed... so people could ignore those that offend them... and we could get past this nonsense.
It is a #### shame.
Jack, thank you again for the update.
There IS an "ignore" feature. It's called "Just don't post" if your offended and move on ... easier said than done I'm afraid ...

Right...I agree with you.
That works for me...
...and if it would work for others... then Bill would still be here posting.
Like I said before... It is a #### shame.

Mod post: I'm sorry this keeps coming up.
1. The issue was Bill couldn't 'ignore' or leave items alone, but was determined to argue people into the ground - and on topics nothing to do with warbirds or Spitfires. (I'm not commenting on the right or wrong of the argument.)
2. Bill repeatedly refused to desist from arguments that were counter productive to the viable management of the board.
3. An ignore feature would not, IMHO, have solved the problem.
4. It is a shame. However I hope we all agree that ALL members of the forum are ALL expected to adhere to the rules - irrespective of expertise or aircraft ownership.
5. The decision to ban, and for how long, is Scott's choice alone. If you don't feel it's fair, let Scott know - BUT, I'm certainly sick of having to address non-warbird issues here, I'm sure Scott's really sick of it.
6. Bill isn't prevented from either setting up his own forum or joining another forum - I can think of several where his warbird input would be most welcome. I can also make a guess as to why this hasn't happened. He can also set up a website if he wants, or someone else can do for him. He's hardly unable to communicate.
This is the last time I'm going to post on the matter, as I've said before, what was done was necessary, and a reasonable query should net a reasonable answer - but with one of the participants unable to put their point of view, I feel it only fair not to go into some detail.
I'd appreciate it if people would therefore either let the matter lie, or take it up, off board, with Scott.
Thanks.

Without getting into the previous topic, I'm glad Bill's Spit looks hopeful. But remember, since the runway collision, the LSFM Hurri got filled up with seawater and sewage and beat around quite a bit. Pretty gnarly.

Discussion on warbirds and their restoration is most welcome!

James, Thanks for your point of view on this. I just read your message.
My statements were not that of disrespect but of protest.
Nothing more.
I will abide by your above statement, but I do feel the loss of this valuable resource merits my earlier protest remarks.
I wish nothing but the best for Bill and his aircraft. I look forward to seeing him fly the Colorado skies in the near future.
I also value other members input/dialog on all warbird topics and look forward to reading those as well.
Even the ones that may possibly upset my tranquillity. I apologize to those I may have troubled with my protest.
Best Regards and Cheers.

Just not many thought provoking/ interesting threads anymore it seems.
Those of us who agree have, um, a Bill to pay our respects to for helping to have made the WIX hangar interesting and compelling. And a Gary, too!

Wasn't the Hurricane already in CO before Ike?

John,
Bill took the Hurricane wings with him when he transported his Spit back to CO. I assume the rest of the a/c was immersed in the Gulf along with the rest of Galveston.

John, this is what she looked like when we went to pick up the Spit and F3F in early October. As you can see only the one wing was damaged.
