Heck Ryan, no offense taken. It was all in good fun. Do you really think I'd submit over 1,800 pictures for the contest?

:) No, because I said limit 4 per category! Do you want to help judge the maintenance pictures?

Hmmm, I dunno Ryan. I think I'd rather just sit back and enjoy seeing them. Often times when I get involved in something, I seem to somehow hurt peoples' feelings and eventually get accused of stuff I didn't do. The ol' "no good deed goes unpunished" saying comes to mind. I appreciate the offer, but I think I'll just be a spectator for now. ;-)

I bet you can find someone in the maintenance field who is willing to do it though.

Ok, will be starting the contest on Monday. I would've posted something more today, but had some friends over last night and while they were here they got word about a death in the family. My father and I took them to the airport around 3:30 this morning so I am really tired and we're just about to launch for a cousin's graduation party up north of Austin. Hopefully by Monday I'll be able to coherently finalize the contest - in the meantime, look at the rules above and keep shooting!

Hi Ryan,
The prize I offered for the maintenance photo still stands. We have a A-4 gunsight cleaned up and ready to go. Just let me know what I can do to help. Would be happy to judge in any category, but feel maintenance is best suited for me.

Now that is what I am gunning for. Umm no pun intended.

Ok folks, the first installment of the great WIX photo contest is open for business, with a few revised rules just for this category.
Here is the thread - it's in the PHOTO SECTION, so don't forget to check in every once in a while!

Keep shooting for the upcoming categories!

In all seriousness folks, give me ideas as to which contest you'd like to see next.

I'm thinking "Best overall Warbird Shot" should be next with AirSho being one of the last big events of the summer. Make the cutoff 10 days after Wings over Houston. My 2 cents! I'll have an award for 1st place since I won the first contest.

Can we limit it to pictures taken this year? That'll be a bit hard to judge  ! We need some standards for what makes it "best!"
I think it also may be time to open the best vintage-style photo contest. I also NEED at least two (minimum, four best) volunteers who will VOTE on the winner(s).

Hey Ryan,
Count me in on helping you out on the next contest. I'm still digging through our maintenance hangar looking for another prize. Never know what I might find.
