Better yet....one of the actual planes he flew still exisits and is/was airworthy.
The NMUSAF's "Shoo-Shoo Baby" is mentioned in his book and I also saw his name in a list of former crewmembers of the aircraft.
When I got a chance to sit inside the cockkpit at an "open cockpit night" in the early 90s, I made a point to sit inthe co-pilot's seat in memory of Stiles.

I vote again for The Capture of U-505. Wildcats and TBMs plus DDs, DEs and CVEs.

Another story, the Cactus Air Force, P-38s, P-39s, P-40s, F4Fs, SBDs, TBMs. Lots of famous characters and American ingenuity, guts and heroism.

From another war Operation Bolo, Robin Olds, Phantoms and Migs. Good story taking a unit that didn't really know what it could do and whipping it into shape the old fashioned way. Probably not much time left for getting Phantoms and Mig 21s together.

How about something a little slower?

Remake Aces High, only in New Zealand with those stunning SE5a reproductions and the VAST number of WW1 replicas kicking about down there! :D

I know it’s only a dream, but you’d never be able to use the field. They’ve changed far too much there to make it worth your while. But as a life member of the 91st BG association, I too would love to see that book done right with several B-17s.

THANK YOU for posting this! A buddy of mine told me about this book several years ago and I’d looked for a long time for the title or author (which he couldn’t recall at the time). Plenty of people told me no such book exists at the time and I’d long ago given up looking for it. I found it easily on Amazon now that I have the title. I can’t wait to finally read it!
