I do think about it...each time I DO it.
You keep on yammering about how you KNOW water-skiing an airplane is instant death...I'll go out and water-ski an airplane.
This is a case where something seems illogical to someone (you) who has neither an understanding of the underlying physics, or experience to draw upon. Hence the quick and complete condemnation of those who possess either one or the other, or both, of the above. With water-skiing a plane, it's simple physics. Ever worked out the hydroplane formula? Works on a lake/pond/river just as well as it does a wet runway.
Pssst...it's 9 times the square root of the tire pressure. But then again, you probably already knew that.
Again...and for the last time (at least by me): It is a calculated risk to water-ski an airplane. It should not be done by neophyte aviators in their rented 172's to show their girlfriend (or boyfriend, depending on which state you live in nowadays

) just how cool they are. Done properly by a trained pilot in an appropriate type of aircraft it can be, and often is, a useful tool in an pilot's bag o' tricks.
