I've wondered whether NASM has a B-52 "designated" for Udvar-Hazy (and if not, why?).
They don't currently have space for one mapped out on their floorplan, and from what I know about the Museum the building doesn't have the space for one. But the building CAN be extended quite a bit, if needed (more-so on the Southern end, which is the civilian side of the facility).

I am thinking that this might be the goal of the museum. It would also allow the museum time to get more room. I think for now the Museum is happy to have the very historic combat vet that is on display in the Vietnam era hangar. But I do think they will get another.
