Okay, I'm bit confused.

Is the blue PBY the one lost in 1975?
The silver plane was lost in 1984?

The Blue one crashing in 1975 is not correct. The Chevrolet next to it is a 1977 model.

The 'first' silver one was lost in 1975 (N15KL). The 'second' silver one (N16KL) at Denton was repainted in the tri-color blue for Airsho 84...which is where it was lost.

WOW!
Call me Mr. Observant... There are two PT-19s done up that way.
On a second look through I noticed they had the kill credits on the wrong side on the lower of the two pictures. And the rivet count was clearly wrong!

NO- wait it's a Buchon :axe:

Can anyone positively identify which PT-19 this was?

While I am asking does anyone know the current status of one time Confederate Air Force PT-26 N261A. The Cornell suffered two accidents with the CAF during the 1990's and then dissappeared. The last being during September 1993 when (according to the NTSB database) it was "substantially damaged". When I asked the CAF this question some years ago they appeared not know, but N261A remained on the FAA database registered to the CAF until quite recently.

The second crash dun her in. Picked over for parts. I ran the FEB on the first one and was at the FEB for the second one. Both pilot induced stupidity.

Obergrafeter
Thank you for the very quick reponse and the info.
Shame though, it was one of the very few survivors from the FJ serial batch.
Thanks again, Tony

At M-62A

I have a Fleet built from the FX series.

Do you know where I might find info on my plane's history?
A precursory Google search didn't give me anything other than general Aircraft information.

Thanks,

SPANNER

Spanner,
Send me a PM and I will see what I can find. I think I am right in saying those FX series Cornells that were not shipped to Africa or India saw little active service. They were amongst the last built and by that time the BCATP was cutting back. The details should be amongst the records I have.
Cheers, Tony

The PT-19A Cornell painted in Luftwaffe colors is c/n 9974-AE N54375 later converted to PT-23.

Thanks...now it's clear, I can't see the N numbers so it was a bit of a blur...and 75 and 84 was a bit before my time.
