I don't think that there should be an issue recovering aircraft even with crew members aboard as long as;
1)The branch that operated the aircraft is contacted and they can ensure that there are no dangers from weapons possibly on board
2)The branch and families of the deceased are all contacted , and throughout the entire event, are treated with the respect they deserve.
I never understood how leaving a body in a aircraft or ship was respectful. They should be given a propper funeral.
I would love to see it in Dayton which is where it would go, but like Django mentioned, I am not sure that the museum that has it now will let it go. They are atleast taking care of it. This is not the same as the Swamp Ghost. These people are at least taking measures to protect it to a certain extent. I don't know of any plans, but I will ask around. It would be sweeto to have it in a place of honor in the museum. I wouldn't even place it in the WWII gallery, but in a hall on it's own.
