What you say is true. However, it seems in this case, no one pre-flighted the pilot as the cause was stated as premature rotation. Just my $.02 worth. Ground effect can be a safe AND deadly thing. I wasn't there, didn't know the pilot or their qualifications so I may be out of bounds. Sorry if I am.
