What a nice series of photos; thanks so much for sharing them!

Funny, in all this back and forth, I just realized that no one said HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the B-17!!!!!!!
I remember (GEE grandpa, are you THAT old!?!) when we shut down E. Marginal Way South (call Microsquish tech support and drive 'Clive' nuts trying to rationalize that address) about three times a week to move completed 737's from the 14-01 final assembly over to the field and test ramp.

Could I order one of those big white mountains for the NY area? They make a terrific backdrop. Drop it right on Newark, that'd be fine.
Sorry, but those pretty mountains come as a package deal with active volcanoes (remember Mt St Helens? That wasn’t too far from Boeing Field). Some of the towns in the foothills are Pompeiis just waiting to happen.
I’d love to see photos from the event itself that night. I found out afterward they’d been wanting re-enactors to portray a bomber crew from WW2. I knew this event was going to happen as I’m a member of the museum. I seriously considered going but nobody in my re-enacting group seemed interested (mostly because we’re not big on paying to attend events and we have a big air show event this coming weekend in Olympia) and I didn’t feel like going if I wasn’t likely to know anyone there. But I wish I’d know they were looking for aircrew as I have a full AAF flight crew impression, complete with parachute. Man, I should have gone. Seattle isn’t that far away from me (about 100 miles, but I-5 almost all the way and is a quick route on weekends normally).
