There was a study and some initial planning/engineering to make a seaplane version of the C-130, but by the time the fuselage was made watertight, strengthened and such, it was too heavy to carry any cargo...EPIC FAIL. Would have been cool though.

This goes back to the recent thread about wix and civility. You are putting yourself into something that IMO is nothing concerning you. I was giving my opinion and I sure do not need you to come tell me how you think I should give it. Nathan made a statement, I asked a question, he made a statement and I asked another question. It is a conversation. It does not have anything to do with you and I was far from jumping down his throat. Stop trying to fan a fire that does not exist.

I don't think that warbird2 comments can be counted uncivil. Chiding perhaps but that is fine among adults, and the response has nothing of the childishness that we have seen elsewhere on WIX. There are no insults given, no questions of patriotism - just a contrary opinion ardently expressed.

WIX should be a forum where we air our interests which may include disagreements in a scholarly but perhaps also animated manner. Warbird2 did this. Let us agree that disagreements can be well expressed wihtout being evidence of personal animosity.

The question being discussed is whether the Seamaster program was ended for bad reasons or because the concept had become dated. Let us continue that discussion and please tell what you think, within the boundaries of normal professional (which can include heated) discourse.

I'm with Mudge. Just state the facts without the drama. If you have to "chide" somebody, go to your city/county council, NA/AA, or church sewing group meeting and do it. Otherwise, your pie-hole should be in the off position.

I will point out again this is why there is a thread on wix and civility. This has nothing to do with you or mudge yet you both seem bent on starting a fight. Please tell me why I should do things the way either of you want? Maybe you should just leave it alone since it does not concern you. So please feel free to take your own advice about pieholes.

I am not the WIX police, but "pie-hole" is not normal professional discourse. It is an insult. If you talked that way in a professional meeting you would risk losing your job.

I do not care if you agree with Mudge or not but I am sure that sentiment means the world to him. I am not concerned how any of this comes across to you as none of this was ever aimed at you, or Franklin, or Forgotten Field, Fouga 23 or Mudge or anybody besides Nathan. Apparently he understood as he did respond. By the way inspector I checked and you are not my Dad. Please quit trying to act like you are.

Children, Children! With my "official" Moderator hat on I have the following to say....

I agree with the several parties here. Warbird2's responses seem to be a bit harsh and lean towards rude. Mudge has his finger on the pulse and seems to be reading the tea leaves correctly. That being said, I do believe the public pronouncement of that blood pressure reading is not really necessary and it does tend to continue the arguments that have been going on recently.
Is it possible to get on with the business at hand, which is aeroplanes and aeroplane accessories, with out all this "personality" mess?
