Judging by the large numbers and enthustiastic reactions of the folks who stopped by after it flew I'd say it worked out just right!!

I was airborne a few minutes early also, so the schedule stayed on time. Thanks again to Greg and crew, we'll have to find a way to get invited next year again....

Ryan, that L-3 is a regular at the show. It stands out nicely in a row of OD L-birds. According to the MAAM website it belongs to Gene Oshrin.

whistlingdeathcorsairs, I think just about all the planes expected to show did, although not all of them were there on Friday. Here is the roster. http://www.maam.org/wwii/ww2_acft.htm

The L-3 that was for sale last year was done up in the same paint scheme, with just a little variation.
Gene Oshrin does indeed, still own "Le Mutt"!

Final got sum time to post, made it to Reading about 1:00 Sat. afternoon. MAAM put on a great show, had a final day fight in FIFI. About a hour before are flight I notice a older gentleman walking towards me with a boarding pass also for FIFI. So I quickly started up a conversion with him, turns out he was a B29 pilot in WW2 with 22 missions over Japan. We talked for over 45 minutes till we boarded FIFI. What a great day, listing to Frank talk about his missions, taking a ride in FIFI, and seeing all the other planes. Many thanks to MAAM, CAF, (CAF everyone was very friendly) and Frank.
Will try and post some pics later.

The ride was really great, from the minute we landed people were asking me was it worth it? HELL YES! with no pause to even think about it. Another thing that was great is we spent about 14-15 minutes on the runway just idling because of air traffic, the was great to sit and hear and feel those engines purr. They offer you ear plugs before the flight, I said no thanks. In my mind I'm saying I what the full experience. I can't say enough good things about the CAF crew their, everyone was very nice to you. Before the flight I went over to Dave M. and said thanks for all the post and up dates he put here on WIX about FIFI re- engine program and progess. The wife ask what next for me, I said sky diving, but made another plane ride in a B-17 this time, Liberty Belle 2 I hope??

I was quite literally too broke to go this year! No money for tolls & entry, not enough gas to go. I was lucky to make it to work all week- had to raid the piggy bank just to do that. NEXT YEAR I'll be there again, but will plan to go with a group again: I should have the WC-51 finished by then, so I'll have a vehicle to display...
