I'm happy to see the first in flight gear operation had a better end that the first one for White 1 and was happier than the second one for White 1 was-
Now I suppose I'll have to buy a copy of little Michael O's rag to see Jims photo work.

Bud is a very close friend of mine and I told him at Abbotsford last week that I'd seen the video of the ME-262 he posted from the Fouga. He said "yes, I shot him down a bunch of times!" You just have to know how much of a fighter pilot he still is after all these years to truly appreciate how serious he was about that remark!

Legend Flyers had White 3 rolled out in front of the hangar at this last weekend's Battle of Britain "Fly Day" put on by Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Museum. So I'm guessing there'll be some photos posted by Spooky soon (hint hint  ). It's a beauty of a jet. Wolfgang Czsai(sp?), the ME-262 test pilot, was showing a guy around the plane and sitting him in the cockpit for photos, etc., so maybe that guy was a potential buyer?. Anyway, FHC flew their Spitfire, along with John Session's Spitfire and the FHC Bf109 Emil, and the Airzona wing of the CAF flew their B-17G Sentimental Journey and B-25J Maid In The Shade...t'was a most excellent time!

And the Fouga of course being the best jet EVER created :supz: Plus, I believe he still flies an Ex-Belgian example?

Sadly, I was stuck at work :(

We usually alternate Saturdays but i've had about the last 5 in a row off so it was time to give up one. I heard the 109 had some overheating issues and came in early.

Well, IF the 262 would have been armed, AND be flown by a fighter pilot, the Fouga wouldn`t have stood the slightest chance.....

No, honestly, the Fouga is a great plane. AND the Red Devils flew displays IMHO better than another "Red" Team in the `60ies and `70ies. What they did with those Fougas even under very bad weather conditions was impressive. So much so, that I feel obliged to say so after so many years. But no chance whatsoever against a 262..... :axe:

Sorry to hear you weren't able to make it this time Spooky...but, yes, John Penney made two passes then had to land. The Bf-109 was really rough on start-up, and the cowling was off for a long time before that, so something was obviously amiss that will take a bit of tweaking. Great show none-the-less, though.

OUTSTANDING photos, Dora! :drink3:

What a gorgeous jet!

By the way, do you know how to pronounce Wolfgang's last name. I think it's spelled Czaia or something liket that.

Thanks for sharing your photos (and Jim's) with us.

I've been slowly accumulating as many photographs (until my 500 mm lens stopped working) and now video of the 262. Being unemployed right now, I've had many opportunities to see this magnificent aircraft. Also, knowing the right people has certainly helped out in being able to hang out with the Legend Flyers gang on the FHC fly days. One of the folks you saw walking around the 262 this last Saturday was me. :-)

I've got a few airport spotting videos on my Youtube channel that have some takeoffs and landings. Once the 262 is gone I will combine all the video I have of it into a compilation.
