Would be great to see the pictures; see below.

As to the 'steel' ailerons, I'm pretty sure that's just an error, possibly in translation. I don't have a copy of the second edition to hand, I hope it's corrected in that!

As to posting pictures, see the thread here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1822 basically, provided you can get a digital image onto your computer (via a scanner or digital camera) then you need an account with a photo hoster - I use Photobucket, there are others - and follow their instructions.

Bill has passed on two images from the drawings showing the requested details:

Bill says: "I've attached two P-47 drawings that show illustrate the difference between the early aileron nose and the later 'blunt' nose ailerons. The one labeled R-24B shows the blunt nose while the one labeled U457_1 shows the earlier nose ribs."

I'll add I'm sorry they're relatively small (due to the photo hosting settings, not the original image) but I think the critical details can be made out. Hope that's of interest to those interested, and thanks again to Bill.
