Cummins diesel with an nv4500 5spd standard shift. I had to replace the transmission at about 350,000 due to running it without oil in the summer towing a heavy load! The rear seal had failed and I didn't notice it until- blam.
When you come down make sure that L-18 panel is attached to a Lodestar or Harpoon fuselage!

This ticks me off. Now everyone knows that this is just "The movie Dodge Ram" and not the actual "Dodge Ram". The real "dodge Ram" is too historic to drive. Also you are missing a tramp stamp.

My goal was just to try and make this truck less of an embarrassment to drive because it was so badly beat up. It cost less than $150 total and is suddenly a joy to drive. When I first painted it OD, I was going to paint teeth on it, but I decided to go with invasion stripes instead. The stripes really help to hide the ten million little dents in the truck.
I had already painted a few Nazi kills on the door, but I soon learned that 99% of the population just assumed that I must be on my way to a KKK meeting so I washed that off after two days. The 1500 foot of 1" rope that I had in the bed of the truck that I'm using for another art project wasn't helping to calm their fears off KKK involvement.
I'll make sure to put a few armadillos and dogs and such on the side instead to impress the folks over at the S.P.C.A.
I almost didn't post this truck on here out of fear of the great and powerful whoopin I was going to get from WIX members for not getting my markings correct and the extensive use of invasion stripes.

Bah...I think he just jacked-up the data plate and put a rebuilt truck under it. If it was a real MOPAR it would have trouble starting in the rain. And yeah...like Mustang said...where's the tramp stamp?! :bs:

I think it would have looked better in a post-war firebomber scheme that would be accurate to the colors of Montana Monty's "Miss Oula" when they hit the ditch after the bombshells party outside of Frenchtown in '59. Or was it '60?

Yes. With all of the research that I have been doing on Tom Bullington that was killed in a P47 in the 58th FG, I decided to paint the numbers of a plane from his fighter group- even though I painted the truck more like a P51. I was going to paint Bullington's tail number at first, but for some reason I chickened out and chose 4276059 from a book that has the same picture that you just listed, but the books says the plane was still flying in the Summer of 44.. April 11,1944 was when Bullington went down.
