The Richard anemometer in the photo above is French, but its only aviation use as far as I know was on the 1903 Wright Flyer. They actually show up on eBay once in awhile, last one I saw went for about $3,000.

Thanks! Good to know, it's a a great piece of film, and shows the huge elevator inputs used to get the flyer off the ground, among other fascinating aspects.
