Are you kidding????? Post away. Absolutely fantastic!!!!!!! I couldn't do better. Myself and MANY others love being able to see these old photos so keep it up. I have nice file of 'zero' images that I will post soon if anyone is interested. But this is your thread and a very nice one indeed. Great stuff

It's funny. Out of the entire collection this modeler put together, we were not able to locate a Zero file. But seemingly all the other major examples are represented. Stay tuned...

Great stuff!

Keep 'em coming, but make sure you're scan are at high-res and saved somewhere (say, on a Museum Flickr account and a hard drive) to avoid going around again later, or short-term availability - like on a thread here that gets messed up.

Almost certainly that one was 'liberated' by someone whose knowledge of Japanese aircraft was restricted to 'Zeros'. geek

Looks like images two and three in the last post weren't flat on the scanner? I can well believe corrugated prints could be a product of flood damage. You can see bands that are out of focus. It could of course be on the original print, but if not, worth trying to flatten them out while scanning.

We've had a b!tch of a time trying to solve this problem. Sadly some of these scans just don't do the original justice. Well... not original per say. You can tell that a whole role of these photos were photos of photos. But we're still experimenting with trying to lay these shots down better.

Yes and I believe one of those groundcrew (possibly the one on the left) actually came to Wanaka not long after it was restored to see "his" Oscar again! He even pointed out a mistake on the "chevron" markings being the wrong colour.
