The Howard 250's were Wright 1820's. -56 if I remember correctly.

There was no separate control for the nose wheel brake. I don't even remember it being there. The nose wheel steering was a little different as it was controlled by a lever on the lower front panel pilots side. Just one of the things unique to the Tri-Gear to get used to.

T-28 had Goodyear disc brakes as well with 3 puck calipers.
I want to say the nose gear was from the A-26. Wonder if someone has the STC data for the change.

How does that nose and change to tricycle change the flying and handling compared to the unmodified. ?

ya know... pop2 I think I saw a fuselage of one of this airframe type in a junk yard in Alabama....I have been wracking my simple mind to recall eggzackley where it was. it was years ago; :axe: I know in was between Montgoooomery and Mobile Somewhere south of Evergreen....sound like a road trip

Once airborne it preformed the same as the other H250's. On the ramp it got a lot more attention.

For Ober, I think the Howard at SAT was sacrificed in a fire training excercise prob in the early/ mid 90's. My wife and me were invited to watch. I have pics somewhere. I don't know the N number.
