This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

That and the flight test program done by 'STORMBIRDS' the builder @ KPAE flying done by Wolf Csazla finding some of the early issues on the aircraft.

We've got an interview with one of the 262 pilots coming soon to Warbird Radio.
Flying the airplane is said to be interesting.
Stay tuned!

RickH, it is a wonderful machine. I was not trying to join the paint police. I didn't know about its donation etc. [People somehow think that all previous posts for sometime have been read....not so, but it does tell a great story.]
I think the Me262 is one of the most beautiful jets ever built...and this is fantastic

Bring $4500.00 in small, unmarked bills, you have 1 hour

I remember thinking decades ago how neat to would be to see a big engined Gee Bee flying and figured there was no way that would ever happen. Now we've had a Gee Bee, ME-109's with DB engines and even some E models, a new build Mosquito, FW-190's, and now 262's! What's next on the horizon?

Maybe someone will buy the Soplata B-36.
Any volunteers?

Beautiful bird indeed! Glad to see they finally got that thing back in the air. The last two 262's have been doing their share of flying as well. I LOVE the video of the 109 and 262 flying together in Germany. It was really great two summers ago watching Jerry Yagen's here at Paine Field.
I know it has a limited schedule, but any chances of a stop up In the PNW?

Is the panel fit along the mid-line of the engine cowls & the one on the nose supposed to be like that?

A second B29 in the air

Yes. That engine midline panel is actually one big piece that wraps around the bottom of the nacelle. It is drawn up on both sides simultaneously until the red lines match up, any tighter and you start bending things. The panels on the nose are the gunbay access, they have a slight overlap and are held down by very robust latches.

Let's see, What's next? Well I'd say that the next type you never thought you'd see take to the air, will be not one, but two P-82's! After that, it's a tough call between P-61 and the Bristol Beaufort. I'm not sure how far away Gerry Yagens' Tony is from flight. As far as the Soplata B-36, somebody better start gapping spark plugs

There's a lot of 'em
Sorry for the thread drift.
The 262 looks amazing. Going for some flight training is sure tempting. Almost makes me want to go back on my decision to never fly a trike again
