Yank's photo recon P-38, which had a set of stairs so you could look in the cockpit:

The sound of five P-38s in the air was incredible. Just a low, mellow rumble. Thanks to all who made it happen.

Great A2A photos

So who were the P.I.C's for this year?

John Maloney, Steve Hinton, Rod Lewis, Kevin Eldrige, and ?? flying "Tangerine" heard Kevin and Ed announce the name but I can't remember...I would venture a guess the pilot was from the museum in Oregon where the plane is based. I am sure that someone here will pipe in with the correct name.

Thanks for posting the great pics and other info fellas!

I'd planned to attend the Chino show Saturday but got a bit of a late start. Since I was headed north anyway I thought I'd keep going to the March Air Force Base Museum and save Chino for Sunday.

I then drove back home and watched The Collings Foundation B-17 and B-24 fly in and out of Palomar Airport a few times while I enjoyed some fish tacos and a couple cold Coronas. Good Saturday.

On to Chino on Sunday... These are not great photos, but I just wanted to share a bit of it.

Was "Tangerine" having problems Saturday during the 5 ship flight? Seemed she was having some difficulty keeping up and staying in formation. I was having difficulty getting all five together in the camera frame, unless zooming too far out. Anyone else notice that or hear what, if anything, was going on?
Thanks!
Tommy

It sounds like the winds were pretty rough, so maybe the pilot chose to be a bit looser in the formation. By comparison Sunday's V formation was nice and tight: http://youtu.be/xubCaOlHJOE

Is the PoF Zero still in Japan? I've not seen any photos of it from the show.

Hi Mike, yes the Zero is still in Japan. I believe it is scheduled to come home this summer.
