I'm guessing the JS code on the tail is not historical?

I'm guessing the 'Jim Slattery' code with Grumman factory delivery numbers on the nacelles is about as historical as the 'John Watts' version of the same scheme seen on the Plane Sailing example in the UK

John, is that a wish or a confirmation?

I talked with Al a week ago and he didn't think it would make it but who knows?

Makes me wonder if John Sessions will climb into the wrong one ;)

Seems like it might be a hell of a time to miss Oshkosh even with sequestration. Does anyone have images yet? other than in a hanger?

I'm more of an amateur AAF/USAF historian so I claim little to no knowledge of USN/USMC codes; coulda been a real unit for all I know. It did strike me a bit funny that there was so much back and forth on the ownership of the plane on page one and then the photo revealed the JS. Even WIXers are allowed an occasional laugh, right?

"not for nuthin'" but if anyone of you happen to catch this Tigercat in any way please feel free to contact me as soon as possible. I have a news item in our next issue and could use a photo or two.

Thanks!
